The objective for MenSe has been to increase the profitability of modern harvesting by improving the critical point between the trunk and the harvester - the feed wheels. The flexible wheel offers better traction and increased productivity for logging with lower total costs.
The gripping surface machined onto the diagonal shank in the direction of the axle forms a circular outer sphere, which feeds timber evenly. Cutting length is achieved faster, the operation becomes more effective, improving profitability. The spikes on the diagonal shank provide sturdy support for the timber. The rollers provide excellent grip in both feeding directions, backwards and forwards. The grip also minimizes surface damage. Gripping pressure may be lowered, which also provides savings in fuel costs. V-Tec has an open, light, non-clogging structure. The rollers are made of hard, tough abrasion resistant steel.
The flexibility of the feed wheels adds to the precision of the grip, improving traction. The feed start runs smoother and the measuring of the cutting length is faster. The wheels roll easily over knot clusters as well. Furthermore, the cutting length measurement is more accurate. Different grip surfaces result in optimized grip for a variety of trunk qualities. MenSe feed wheels improve the overall productivity of the harvester and reduce the total costs per harvested cubic meter. The maintenance costs can also be cut down significantly. Lower noise level and reduced harvester cabin vibration through the MenSe feed wheels add to working comfort and improve the operator performance.
MenSe feed wheels are available with different measures and several grip surfaces:
Asymmetric spikes made of wear-resistant steel give a maximal grip while feeding the trunk. The ”fingers” are hardened and machined leading to
better durability and usability and allowing the tips to overlap better when the wheels are in contact with each other. The “fingers” broaden the wheel’s gripping surface thus increasing the support of large trunks.
The trunks are easier to handle while the spikes are longer in the outer rim enablinga better reach.
The lifetime of our feed wheels is several years, the warranty period covers 2000 working hours or 1 year. The flexible structure dampens the sharpest shocks to the harvester head and thus allows you to save in repair costs.
We also manufacture feed wheels for sawing machines. Contact us and ask for more information!
